2* Colorado State +3.5
Pick City started the season off with a win on Colorado State last Saturday, and we like the Rams again against in-state rival Colorado. The Rams having one game under their belts will help them as they take on a Colorado team who is breaking in a new quarterback and defensive coordinator. A small play on the Colorado State money line might be worth a shot here, too.
1* Boston College -3.5
If Steve Addazio’s team wants to sniff a bowl game, Friday night’s road game against Northern Illinois is a must-win. Boston College should be stout defensively, and they will look to bully the Huskies up front.
Saturday, Sept. 2
4* N.C. State -5
South Carolina was a surprising bowl team last year, and sophomore quarterback Jake Bentley is a rising star. But the Gamecocks still have some offensive line issues to sort out, and they also lack depth on the defensive side of the ball. The Wolfpack’s defensive line will be one of the best in the country, and they will be in the backfield with Bentley all afternoon.
3* Troy +11.5
The Trojans bring back nearly all of their skill players on offense, and third-year coach Neal Brown orchestrated an impressive turnaround last year with this program. Troy won 10 games, and they are an impressive 6-2 as road underdogs in Brown’s first two years, including last year’s near upset of Clemson. On the other hand, Boise was completely overvalued last year as a home favorite as they were 0-6 ATS in 2016. Troy has the talent to not only cover the spread, but to win the game outright.
Season Record: 2-0, plus 4 stars
More picks to come Saturday!
